Med-Clot History
On behalf of the Turkish Gendarmerie General Command's requirements, our R&D team has been working on Med-Clot since 2017. We achieved success after three years, passed all tests in 2021 and obtained CE certification from one of the most trusted institutions, the Turkish Standards Institution (TSE 1783). The project was selected among the best R&D projects by KOSGEB and received financial support.
About Med-Clot
Approximately 40% of trauma-related deaths are due to bleeding or its consequences, establishing haemorrhage as the most common cause of preventable death in trauma. Med-Clot Hemostatic Gauze provides a bleeding-control system that addresses bleeding scenarios from traumatic injuries. Applied with manual pressure, Med-Clot promotes clotting within minutes of application to help save more lives. Our hemostatic technology is based on kaolin and carboxymethyl cellulose impregnated non-woven fabric with an active ingredient. Unlike other commonly used hemostatic devices, Med-Clot contains no animal or human proteins or botanicals, so there is no risk of allergic reaction.
Safety
- Carboxymethyl cellulose, the active ingredient in Med-Clot, has been used in drugs, injections and food for many years with no allergic reactions.
- Kaolin is also used in drugs and cosmetics, and by our main competitor QuikClot.
- Med-Clot produces no heat in laboratory tests.
